Cigarettes are a remarkably addictive habit. We all know that smoking is absolutely horrible for us and so for many non-smokers they may look on with contempt at smokers believing they are fools to have picked up the habit. But the reality with smoking is that this is a habit that most smokers pick up while they are young and easily influenced. When we are young we have a veil of invincibility around us and even if something is known to be bad we feel that no harm can come our way.
